• Magic Is in the Air! (and in Our Cups)

  I cannot begin to tell you how thankful my students and I are to you for your generosity. In recent years we have begun, as educators and society in general, to accept the concept of kids reading something written by authors who are not dead, rich, white guys. With your donations, I have been able to help my 25 students with a variety of materials including books, fidgets and snacks to help get them through their day.

  Ultimately, putting these books in the hands of kids who don't naturally love reading or are not used to seeing characters like themselves in books, helps to cultivate a "like" reading which we only hope turns into love and appreciation of books. Because of donors like you, we, as a community, can edge closer to closing the gap for all reluctant readers.”

  The first time the boxes arrived at school, I didn't know they would all be for us, to help us through our day. Ms. Bouzakine let us help open them and I slowly realized there was more and more amazing things for our classroom!

  Now when the boxes arrive at school, I am eager to go and see what surprises have come and trust me everyone is excited! We love that we have been able to create our own reading areas with flexible seating and as a student with ADHD it has been helpful for me to wobble around in my seat.

  Now when the boxes arrive at school, I am eager to go and see what surprises have come and trust me everyone is excited for the snacks...especially the spicy chip box mix! I love how games get created with the material so that we can get up and move while learning!

  We are off to an amazing start to the 2023-2023 school year! My students are so excited to enter into a new building and to learn about all the middle school has to offer. They were shocked to see that they each received an awesome water bottle and cute stickers to customize their own.

  In class, students used the art supplies to show off things they love within their lives. From sports to dogs we have it all! The art work has since been hung around the room!
