Every day my students use the class rug during reading, calendar time, math, story time, etc. I love to have my students up and moving to different places in the room for lessons, so they don't just sit at their desk all day. If there is a chance to move to the floor for a lesson, we do it. This is an area where we can use Rekenreks and whiteboards during math. The reason I need a new rug is because the corners are starting to roll on our old rug, I've had kids or even parents trip. The backing is wearing off so the rug is becoming flimsy and will bubble up. It's not safe. I know my students will enjoy this rug for years to come.
