Many times throughout the day we meet in the “middle”. What is the middle you may ask? In my classroom it is an area where all of my students meet together to engage in whole group activities where students are encouraged to share ideas, collaborate, support one another, question their ideas about the world, and help to create a safe environment where we all learn. That is what a new rug will help provide for me and my students. A designated spot where we will go as a classroom community throughout the day. Students thrive on routine and knowing what’s next. Having this area in my room will help me create a safe spot for all of my students.
