  • Proving Awards and Peace in Our Comforting Community Classroom

    Funded Oct 14, 2024

Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. And yet it is also incredibly time consuming and without help, expensive. Any donation to this project provides exactly what my students need while taking a load off of me having to provide it all on my own. Thank you is far from enough. But still, thank you for supporting my classroom and my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bonser

  • Comfy Seating = Engaging Learning

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

Our new flexible seating has surely been a turning point for engaged learning in our classroom. We have organized our room into 6 different work areas and each week the students get to work at a new area. We have the ball chairs, the wobble seats, the stools, the seat cushions and lap desks, and for whole group instruction or mini-lessons on the carpet we have our carpet dots.

My favorite part of our new seating is watching the kids work so hard because they are comfortable. Their reaction to seeing our room was priceless, they come in with a new joy about their learning environment that is noticeable everyday. Not only do they tell me how much they enjoy our classroom but I can see the difference in their engagement in our learning. We have a new calmness to our room that can only be explained by this huge change in our classroom environment.

There is so much gratitude in my heart to everyone who donated to this project and made such an impact in the learning of my current students and my future students to come. My room brings me just as much joy as it does my students. I mostly love my room because I love seeing my students be the best learners they can be by getting to learn in a comfortable environment that meets their needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bonser

Students today need a little extra support in the fidget department. In my opinion it starts with comfortable seating accompanied with choice. I have selected 4 different styles of seating for students to choose from which include: stools, ball chairs, wobble seat cushions, and portable lap desks. Along with a half moon activity table allowing me to work with a smal group in an accessible way. There is enough seating for a class of 26. While I will still have the option of the traditional classroom chair available, most of the seating is designed to work well in small group activities.
