We need big paper, markers, tape, whiteboards, and highlighters to show our learning. Instead of lecture, I want my students to play an active part of history lessons. These materials will allow my students to take the facts learned in class and present them to others using creative means. My students will use these supplies for silent discussions that allows each member of the class to give and receive feedback. They will recreate propaganda posters in civics, mimicking the Federalists and Anti-Federalists. When teaching the New Deal, this will allow my students to create new agencies and policies using a "What If" scenario. As we study past empires of world history, students create an "autopsy" of those empires, showing the strengths of each empire and ultimate "death" of that empire.
