The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using hands on activities in math allows students the ability to become successful learners. The whiteboards are for guided practice and to record modeled strategies in the classroom. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. The play money is a great way for students to interact with others and use hands on modeling in the classroom. Using play money allows students to grasp the idea of how to use it in real life situations.
When having items for students to keep their supplies in allows students to become responsible for those items. I have notice that students love to be organized. It gives them a sense of pride as well as a neat and organized classroom to learn in!
