  • I Can Grow That!

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you for allowing me to share my love of gardening and growing plants with parents and students at my school. As you can see by the photos I have shared, we had some really excited parents and students planting seeds.

When finished with breakfast, pre-k students collected plastic cereal containers to reuse as planters. The Donor's Choose grant provided additional materials including soil, seed starter, and seeds for the planting project. The pre-k students put 3-4 into small zip-top bags to make it easier for gardeners to select the kind of seeds they wanted to plant.

During our school's Family Market Night families had the opportunity to join a variety of activities. This month we provided an awesome opportunity for families to plant seeds of their choice. Our new gardeners filled their planters with moist soil, topped it off with seed starter material, and chose a packet of seeds to plant. Each newly planted seed was matched with a small plastic coordinating stake with the seed's name on it. Families took their newly planted seeds home to grow.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Clark

  • Room to Grow

    Funded Nov 22, 2023

I am very appreciative and humbled by your generous donation to help expand our gardening program at my school, thank you. Funding our program will give many more students the opportunity to explore how the can grow their own food. Students will be able to taste, eat and share the food that they grew in our school courtyard.”

    With gratitude,

  • Rainbow Gardening

    Funded Sep 24, 2022

Thank you for helping my students grow their 'Rainbow Garden". The pre-k students were able to grow a vairety of edible plants and vegetables. When they returned in the fall as kindergarteners, they were able to sample plants and vegetables that they grew in the spring.

Each kindergarten class was able to pick a pumpkin from the garden to celebrate the fall season. One class even used the pumkin to learn about their 5 senses!

This year we hope to expand our growing activities by getting more raised bed gardening boxes and placing them in our school courtyard. We hope to connect to some of the upper grades to help share our experiences.

    Thank you once again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Clark
