    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you so much for your generosity! I know this is an unusual request, but it will bring lots of joy to lots of teenagers for a long time! We plan to get started in about two weeks, and I hope the no phones project grows and grows! Thank you so much!”

  • Support Future Chefs by Providing Essential Culinary Classroom Kitchen Supplies!

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Wow! We are truly cooking along at Peninsula High School, and your generous donation is making all the difference! Thanks to your support, we now have essential supplies that will serve our Culinary Arts students for years to come.

Your contribution has allowed us to expand our materials, making it possible for students to explore new techniques—like making sushi and refreshing summer treats! Your generosity fuels not only our classroom but also the creativity, confidence, and skills of our future chefs.

Thank you a million times over for your kindness and support. We couldn’t do this without you!”

  • Journaling for Mental Health

    Funded Mar 12, 2025

Wow! Thanks to your kindness, my tenth graders will have a creative and meaningful way to check in with themselves every day. These journals—along with the stickers and fancy pens—will make such a difference in their ability to express emotions, reflect, and build a habit of gratitude.

I have big plans for these! Just five minutes a day of journaling—whether through words, drawings, or gratitude lists—can help students process their emotions and approach the world with a more positive mindset. Your generosity is giving them the tools to do just that.

I can’t wait to see the impact this will have, and I am so grateful for your support in making it possible. Thank you for believing in my students and in the power of reflection and self-expression.”

    Mrs. Donahoe

  • Farm to Table Herbs with a Classroom Garden

    Funded Oct 26, 2024

On behalf of my high school Culinary Arts classes, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support in helping us create our thriving herb garden. Your donation of soil, fertilizer, and tools made it possible for us to plant and nurture a wonderful variety of herbs, including two types of oregano, thyme, two types of mint, basil, cilantro, two kinds of parsley, and dill—four of each plant!

The garden has become a central part of our Culinary Arts program, providing students with hands-on experiences that go beyond the classroom. Each student has taken on meaningful roles in the garden, whether it's trimming, watering, drying, or packaging the herbs. It's been incredible to see them take pride in their responsibilities and grow their understanding of how fresh ingredients enhance the meals we prepare together.

We've already put our herbs to great use in our recipes, and their fresh flavors have truly elevated our dishes. Teachers at our school have even started asking to use our herbs, and we're delighted to share because the plants are thriving. This garden has become a shared resource that benefits not just our class but our entire school community.

One particularly special moment came when a student who rarely engages indoors found joy in watering and caring for the plants. Watching this student discover a new sense of responsibility and connection with the garden has been a highlight for me as an educator.

Your support has also allowed us to spend time outdoors each day, tending to a space that fosters learning, teamwork, and creativity. This experience has shown my students the importance of sustainability and the satisfaction of growing something from the ground up.

Thank you again for your generosity. Your contribution has made a lasting impact on our students, enriching their learning experiences and sparking their enthusiasm for both gardening and cooking.”

  • Learning Spanish You Can Use Today!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

I am so thankful for all of you who helped fun my project! It makes my job easier, for sure, to have the latest materials. But is also makes it engaging for my students, and they will be more interested in becoming Spanish speakers with these magazines and the digital content. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

In the last ten years, as a high school teacher, I have taught several levels of Spanish, AVID, English, and Culinary Arts. I have found my passion in Culinary Arts, but I have also found that students have the same needs in every classroom: the need to feel welcome and safe, the need to feel understood and listened to, the need to have fun and the need to be challenged. I hope, through the activities I create every year, to fulfill those needs and help raise the next generations of leaders.
