Do you love stories that end happily ever after? I teach 18 very energetic first graders who love to put on plays. At recess they put on little plays for me. I often ask them if they practice at home. Their response is "No, we watch TV at home." Clearly the only time they practice dramatic play is at school. My students come from low income families. Over half of them receive no help or attention at home. Their drive to learn and perform plays thrills my heart.
