    I want to thank you with all my heart for helping my students. Being an inner city school, funds are low and with this economy almost non existent! Thanks to you all, you have given my class and future classes the opportunity to have new and exciting books to read and listen to. Even those students who are struggling are able to truly enjoy your gifts.

    I have noticed within the past months, their fluency has improved as well as their ability to follow along with a tape or CD. It is wonderful to know there are still people such as yourselves that are willing to help. Now that times are tough, it is even more appreciated!

  • Creative Kindergarten Classroom!!!!

    Thank you all so very much for helping our classroom. I can't express how much the students and I appreciate your generosity. My class uses the different supplies each day, and I already see a growth in their learning. They have started learning their letters and their letter sounds which is the first step in learning to read.

    Since we are an inner city school, funds are extremely hard to come by. Without your help our class and future classes would be truly missing out. Reading is an essential part of life. Kindergarten is the time to learn, and you have helped make this possible. Thank you again!

Most do not have money to buy necessary school supplies such as pencils, erasers, crayons, etc. Funding is limited in our district and we have 40 schools that need to share what little is available. Last year our school ran out of money in January and teachers were not given copy paper, writing paper, or any other needed materials for the rest of the year. It was the students who suffered. Students in our school come into kindergarten already behind. Last year, I had some students who did not know their last names. Most of the time my students are only exposed to educational materials at school. They need different ways to learn like music, hands on materials, and other creative activities.
