My leadership students are creative individuals who need more than math and English to study every single day. These materials will make a difference in the students' learning because they will have the necessary tools to become successful in their self-created school events and redirect internal student conflicts. The students will be in charge of their own school events in conjunction with staff and parent volunteers. Our school lacks an art program that has the necessary supplies such as paintbrushes, paint, and paper to start making posters. These supplies would help jumpstart our leadership program in creating school events for our community and students to want to attend. Bringing the school community together is a primary goal to show that the students have power behind their ideas and we can make changes in our school setting. Last year, we got our middle school students the allowance of using their phones during breaks because we discussed how extrinsic rewards would be beneficial to middle school. Through our discussion with the principal, the middle school was granted their wishes the following year. Pushing these ideas forward empowered our students to do more for their school and give back to the community that raised them.
