Imagine Pottery Wheels
Funded Oct 7, 2021I would like to take a moment to describe for you the impact that your support has had on our visual arts program.
My classroom, prior to the donors choose initiative, had only one pottery wheel, which made teaching my students how to work on the wheel nearly impossible. Due to the supply chain issues, we had gotten to a place where we weren't sure if our new wheels would come before the end of the school year. My students were so surprised and excited when I got the call that there were three large packages at the front desk with my name on them.
Currently, we are working on two week rotations where four 8th graders spend two weeks working on the wheel, getting a feel for the basics and doing their best to learn how to center clay. (It took me two weeks to learn the centering process when I was in college.) Many of my students are getting the hang of it much faster and are already making small bowls and cups.
It is your generous support that has made this a possibility so thank you thank you thank you. We truly appreciate your gift.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Barton
Get Fired Up
Funded May 24, 2018Wow, I’m speechless. Thank you all so much for the gracious support. I’ve truly felt the love. I can't wait to show you what we're capable of. There are grand plans as we begin to build what will become a great ceramics program. Your contributions will help us take those first steps. We thank you again for supporting the arts.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Barton
