Online Resources for Online Learners!
Funded Nov 23, 2020My students and I were so grateful to have our project fully funded! With that, we were able to purchase a ton of resources to learn remotely. These things included lessons, graphic organizers, learning games, and other scaffolds to help us learn! Learning online is not an easy task and this has helped us make online learning fun and engaging. These resources will also be able to be used for future students in my class as the remote learning will never go away. Thank you again for your generosity!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Allstate Foundation.A Clean Room is a Happy Room
Funded Nov 5, 2019My second grade class and I are very grateful for our new drawers and tens frames! We use them everyday to solve our math problem the best way that suits us. See, we use these drawers to hold all of our math manipulatives so we can use aa variety of strategies to solve problems. Maybe one way make work for some, but not for others. Our class is very excited to have a place to hold our manipulatives in an organized way. When the students walked into the room and saw the drawers, you heard a loud "WOAHHHHH" echo the room, as they all participated to help put together and organize the drawers.
We are very grateful for your contribution.”

Time to be Currently Event-turous!
Funded Jul 27, 2018We are very grateful for contributing to our project "Time to be Currently Event-turous!" My students are so excited to start reading these magazine. We have started off with reading about how crayons are made, which fit in perfectly with our how-to writing unit! I have shown the students the collection of TIME magazine topics we will be reading about and they are so excited to learn so many new things! What is great about these magazines, is that they align with all of the skills we have been learning while reading. Unfortunately, we were growing as readers so we were not able to read the magazines in the beginning of the year. Now that we can, each student has spotted a topic that interests each and every one of them! Providing the students with reading material that sparks their interest is very hard, especially for a Title 1 school, that is why TIME magazine was a great addition to our classroom.
When the students were asked about what they enjoyed most about the magazine, they responded that they really love the facts and photos that are provided. My students have limited access to the world around them and these magazines have exposed them to many new, interesting, and exciting things! Their vocabulary, fluency, reading comprehension, and writing skills will all be practiced with these articles. TIME magazine even provides lessons, graphic organizers, and suggestions of how to apply these articles while strictly aligning them to Common Core Learning Standards.
We thank you again for this wonderful opportunity and for providing us with knowledge of the world around us.”
