I teach in a kindergarten classroom at a Title I school where more than 50% of students come from economically disadvantaged households. Many of my students are also ELLs (English Language Learners). My students often face tough situations in their home lives. I strive every day to make my classroom a safe place for my students to come and forget about their home lives for just a little while and focus on being loved and learning. Despite some of the challenges my students face outside of school, they come to school with a smile every day eager to learn.
