Welcoming a new class of kindergarteners is filled with so many emotions. I am always excited about setting up my classroom and putting out new supplies for them before the first day of school. Everything is set in the center of their tables so they can share everything. Sharing is caring after all. This year is a little different. As we start the school year with distance education, my new class of kindergarteners will need basic school supplies to complete activities that will help them practice essential concepts and skills at home.
These materials will be individually packed into learning bags that will contain items to assist them with completing learning tasks.
Writing tools such as whiteboards or pencils and grips will help with their fine motor skills by practicing letter formations. Folders will keep their work organized in one area. Sheet protectors allow them to have reusable visual aids like the alphabet, number lines, and a sight word list.
These are just a few of the items that will be placed in their bags to ensure they have the learning tools they need to stay on pace with the curriculum and succeed in school.
