"How would you make dark matter in large quantities?" "What is behind the force of gravitation - idea of mass doesn't seem to explain it all??" "Can you help me with calculations to make a real telescope?" These could be the inquiries of a young imaginative mind or a mature scientific brainpower. Yet, I am lucky to hear them everyday in an inner city physics classroom. My students, after facing unimaginable challenges of poverty, retained their inquisitive attitudes, ready to question, challenge, and explore. For most of them, it is the way of life - they have found their true passion in science. Yet, with the outdated equipment and a complete lack of budget, our school simply can not create an adequate learning environment for these brilliant minds. Attending an inner city high school should not limit students' career and educational choices, especially in case where talent and intuitive scientific thinking are so openly pronounced.
