Protecting Our Science Students
Funded Sep 24, 2018Amazing news! Our laboratory safety goggles and aprons have been generously funded!
The rest of our Science department and I are so thrilled to have such a valuable resource for our students. We are blown away by your generosity and are really looking forward to improved safety.
We will let you know more as our story develops. For now, know that our students are also excited that we are getting "real" aprons and goggles!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Cork
Our Students Need Chemical Glassware
Funded May 28, 2018Thank you so much for your incredible generosity--we have benefited tremendously from your gift of 54 new beakers and a drying rack.
So far, we have been able to run more experiments than ever before, and the year has only started. We began our year with an experiment to determine which beaker was more precise in terms of measurement, but we have many more plans! Later on, we are going to titrate a weak acid to determine Ka, perform a redox titration, and discover more about kinetics using a variety of concentrations and temperatures for an iodine clock reaction.
The students were so relieved to see some new beakers. We were constantly running out last year and did not have time (or a drying rack) to effectively wash them--they were grimy and scarce! Having a plethora of clean beakers really is a treat for the kids, and we are endlessly grateful that our chemistry lab looks more like a training ground for young scientists.
As donors, you have collectively promoted science to a whole group of dedicated young students. Their futures may have changed course thanks to you, and our I strongly believe that small actions like this can make our future a brighter place.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Cork
