Mighty Robot Summer Reading
Funded Jul 22, 2022The donation of these books has been such a beautiful addition to our classroom. The children are so interested in reading about characters that go on adventures. The mighty robot series is not a well known series written by Dav Pilkey and they are wonderful for first graders. This series teaches so many beautiful lessons about character feelings and how they change across the book. The children learn about plot, setting and conflict/resolution. The students can't put these books down. I begin the series by reading the first book in the series as a read aloud and once we are done with the first book, the children are begging to read the next one. These books are also amazing to compare and contrast across books. Thank you for providing us these resources”

Letters, Phonics and Writing
Funded Oct 29, 2021These wipe off boards and materials have been fantastic in all areas of our classroom. We use them for practically everything. From phonics, to math, to science and social studies. The boards and materials are giving the children so many opportunities for independence and growth in so many curriculum areas. The materials are so versatile and portable that we can virtually use them anywhere to learn or practice a skill. The students are always so excited when I say we will be using our wipe off supplies for an activity. I graciously thank the donors for these much needed supplies.”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.We are Published Authors
Funded Oct 29, 2021We love our new printer. We are able to print and hang our stories for all to read in the school. The children are writing more and more and are so enthusiastic about writing since they will be able to print their writing. The printer is also useful to print easy readers to supplement our library with extra books. The students can look up a story that is available to print online and then we print it for them to take home and read the story. The excitement on their faces when they ask, can I print my story? and I say of course, is priceless. It has been so nice to have this technology in our classroom and I am so thankful and gracious to our donors.”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.LEGO Stories
Funded Nov 1, 2019When the box of materials first arrived to my classroom, the students were overjoyed. They couldn't believe that their project was funded. We opened the materials and distributed it amongst the four tables. They couldn't wait to dive right in and start building.
Today my students are enthusiastically using the new materials. It has been such a joy to watch students use the materials. Some students enjoy building by using the paper model as a guide and others use their creativity to build new objects or characters.
I am noticing the students use the materials as a way to connect and collaborate with peers and also as a vehicle for conversation. Students have to problem solve to figure out how to build something and what pieces will work to build the model they envisioned. It is so gratifying to watch how proud a child is when they build something using their own creativity.
We are planning on using the materials to assist us in our creative writing process. Thank you again!”
