The pillows and the seats will be used in our classroom to design spaces for cooperative learning. We have our tables and chairs currently spaced three feet apart which makes for a crowded classroom with few options for meeting with groups or partners. I have found that this year the need for working with peers is important. My students are craving social interactions.
As we focus on learning centers and research-based cooperative learning methods, our class needs seating options to allow students to wiggle, talk, and work together. One corner of the room will contain these pillows and the easel as students work in small groups or with partners. They're easy to transport so the seating can be flexible.
