  • Let's Move!

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you for the donation to our classroom. We truly appreciate it! We are having fun learning how to jump rope! It's funny how much concentration my students have as they try to jump rope. Most of my students had never jumped rope before this. Some are quick learners while others struggle a bit more. I enjoy watching my students work cooperatively and give each others tips to help each other improve. They are gaining so many valuable skills while having fun and staying active.

My students were so excited as we opened the new equipment box. They immediately wanted to know when we would be using the new materials. We unboxed them and went outdoors to explore that same day!

We look forward to getting fit and learning new tricks as we use our materials weekly. We are so grateful for you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Astorga

  • Move It! Let's Get Physical!

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you for your generosity given to my students. We are so grateful that you helped with your donation to our classroom. The students were so excited watching the opening of the box with the new equipment. We have been busy learning how to use our rackets and play badminton. We are enjoying the process while getting fit as well.

In a time when our youth is focused on watching television and playing video games it has been fun to watch my students develop their athletic skills as they learn new games and skills. They have been enjoying themselves and look forward to active play on a weekly basis.

Thank you so much for helping us become fit and healthy!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Astorga

  • Creativity in Progress

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class! We truly appreciate that you helped us acquire some much needed art materials for our classroom! To use some actual watercolor paper for our watercolor art was such a treat. The students were able to use watercolors and their brush and not have to worry about the paper tearing. Such a great treat!

My students were so excited to use the new materials. We worked on an Elf on the Shelf art project, as the Christmas season is upon us. They truly enjoyed using the different mediums to complete the project.

We look forward to more art projects as we continue our journey as artists. Our skills are already improving. We can't wait to see our progress at year's end. So much more fun awaits us!

Thank you once again for your kindness!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Astorga

  • First Grade Artists

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you for the wonderful gift or art that you gave from your heart to help us grow as artists. I'd like to express my gratitude for your support in acquiring the much needed art materials for our classroom. The students were super excited watching me open the boxes! They wanted to start painting right away. They asked how long it would take me to build them. I told them that I would be as fast as I possibly could.

They have enjoyed being creative. We have a perfect spot right outside our class where we have the opportunity to paint and enjoy the outdoors at the same time. It is a great treat. We look forward to painting and exploring our creativity as we begin our life cycles unit.

Thank you once again for your kindness to our classroom.”

  • Art Stimulates the Imagination!

    Funded Jul 18, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom! The students have been able to put all the materials to good use. They are so happy to have their very own materials to use at home to complete their work. We have incorporated Art into as many lessons as possible. We use all our materials - crayons, glue sticks, scissors, erasers, and art books on an almost daily basis. The students look forward to using their imagination and expressing their creativity through their works of art. They have been able to improve their drawing skills as they express themselves. We are so grateful for your donation and kindness. A million thanks!!!”

  • Help Us Find Our Voice!

    Funded Jul 15, 2020

I'd like to express our gratitude for helping provide much needed materials to my students. The students were excited to have their own personal supplies to take home. They called them their gifts. These materials have helped us to better complete our assignments and not have to worry about how to do that. The students have been able to share their ideas and put them down on paper in their very own journals. We also do a daily check-in where they are able to express how they are feeling and show us by drawing a face/scene in their own whiteboard. The social emotional daily check-in helps share and validate our students' feelings. The supplies that you have helped to provide are put to good use every single day! We can't thank you enough for your support!!”

  • Creative Expression

    Funded Apr 6, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating the art supplies to our classroom. The students were very excited about being able to use the watercolors, watercolor paper, and other supplies. They had so much fun being able to be creative and explore what they could do when mixing colors. They had so much fun that they asked repeatedly when we would do it again. Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to express their creative side in a positive manner. Many of my students seldom have the opportunity to experience art outside of the school setting. Thank you for making it happen in our classroom!”

  • Fancy Feet Need A Beat!

    Funded Feb 20, 2012

I'd like to express my gratitude for your generous donation to our classroom. The iPod dock that you donated has helped my students enjoy music every single day. We use it to sing along to our favorite songs, play different instruments while following the beat, and to let lose and dance. The iPod dock is helping my students acquire oral language and coordination skills that they currently lack, while having lots of fun!

With the current budget cuts to our school we buy only the necessities and other resources become a luxury. Without your help the purchase that we made would not have been possible. You are helping my students build their self-esteem while also building the confidence with which they speak and carry themselves.

Without caring donors like you, many classrooms would go without much needed materials and resources. Thank you for caring for our students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Astorga

My students are from diverse backgrounds all living in the inner-city community. Most of my students are English Language Learners. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Most qualify for the school's free lunch program. They are a lively bunch that need to build their language skills. They need exposure to the arts, such as music and dance.
