The children in my elementary school ESOL classes are brilliant students who attend a diverse school in Maryland. Many of these students are able to read and write in their home languages but struggle to read, write, listen and speak English and desire to become bilingual. Other younger students are learning literacy skills in their home languages and English simultaneously. All students want to use technology to support their English language acquisition but lack reliable access to technology at home.
