  • Mrs. Hamm's Wildcat 4th Graders Need Access to Technology

    Funded Oct 11, 2021

Thank you very much for your contribution to our classroom. My students are going to be so excited to use more technology in the classroom. In Fourth grade, we focus on typing skills to prepare for assessments as well as research projects where technology is necessary. I appreciate your generosity and willingness to help my students be the best they can be!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hamm

Each year our students are required to participate in state mandatory testing (including SBAC). All students are required to type their responses, however due to lack of technology (especially those with traditional keyboards) in both their homes and classrooms, many students have not had the necessary exposure to allow them to demonstrate their proficiency of testable subjects. These new Chromebooks will give my students lots of practice on a keyboard. Additionally, I am seeking resources that will aid in supplementing instruction and remediating academic gaps caused by two years of COVID-19 affected education. Individualized and differentiated instruction is easy provided and managed with additional chrome books available in the classroom! In addition, our Writing Standards require students to be able to use computers. W.4.6 - With some guidance and support from adults, use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of one page in a single sitting. They need access to these devices in order to be able to master these standards!
