  • We R Reading Sharks!

    Funded Jun 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations for our class this year. My third grade students were so excited to have the new resources available for their use during the school year.

They love the half notebooks as they use them to work on their writing. They do a daily question of the day they answer in their notebooks. They also use the notebooks to work on their vocabulary skills. The Pop It games these are so loved in the class! The students love to play the game while at the same time working on much needed phonics and vocabulary skills.

Again, thank you so much for your donations for our class! We truly appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Colon

  • Flexible Seating and Playground Fun!

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

My students use the seats for flexible seating in the classroom. Whether it is to work independently, sit in the library and read, or even to work in groups, my students like to have the option to use these seats for their comfort during their learning.

In addition, the use of the playground balls is a great resource for students. They love to play outside with the balls. It encourages collaborative playing, team work, and more! They really do enjoy having the option to use these balls during recess time!

Again, thank you so much for your kind and generous donation for my students!”

    With gratitude,

  • Headphones! Headphones! Headphones!

    Funded Apr 19, 2022

thank you so much for the donation for my project. Children in exceptional student education always need the most support and always tend to fall under the cracks due to not enough teachers understanding their needs. These headphones will definitely help my austism spectrum disorder students with their sensitivity to sounds and loud noises. They will be able to put these head phones on and be able to have better functionality in the classroom, thus leading them to a higher probability of success.”

  • Sensory Experiences, Math and Language!

    Funded Nov 23, 2021

My students love the supplies that came to our classroom. They enjoy playing with the calendar during circle time (morning meeting). My students love to play with the Alphabet Learning Locks and the Nuts About Counting during center rotations. They use the Sensory Shoulder Dog when they feel overwhelmed and need to be comforted. Finally, they love to play with the Foam.

These items are a hit in my classroom. With my ASD students, they are not on grade level and also have trouble with self-regulation of their emotions. These items will help to reinforce their foundation skills during centers too!”

  • Becoming Leaders by Becoming Better Readers!

    Funded May 3, 2019

My kids were excited to have new items with which to practice developing their skills in fluency, identifying the main idea and key details, and working on becoming better writers and readers. These activities helped those who struggled and those who were looking for challenges were given opportunities to help others as well.

When the materials arrived, the students were excited to see them as the boxes were delivered to the classroom. The smiles on their faces had made my day and you should be happy to know you played a role in that.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Colon

  • Building Community in the Classroom!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

My students love coming together on the rug every morning for morning meeting! They love to come as a group to talk and to discuss how the day is going to be, how the day was before, how their evening was, and any other important information that is to be given. We have what is called buddy cards, students pair up and they have conversations about certain topics where they talk for a few minutes. They like the chance to talk with someone new each day.

They were excited when they saw the rug when it had arrived to the class, eager to sit and even lay on it!”

  • Comfortable Setting! Ready for Learning!

    Funded Aug 29, 2018

Thank you so so so so so much for donating money towards the supplies I had requested for our classroom! My students love the pillows they have available for them to sit on. They truly enjoy being able to gravitate from the hard chairs they have at their desks. This also helps one or two particular students when they have the wiggles and can't stay at their desks.

The headphones they love to use for when they work on their assignments on their Chromebooks. They love the feel and comfort they get from them, plus they are able to work hard without disrupting others. Finally, they love the easy access to center materials with the containers we have received. It makes it easy for them to get what they need as well. Again, thank you so much for everything. Your generous donation is very much appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

Flexible seating allows students to have an opportunity to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. I have noticed that my students perform better when allowed to sit where they choose during learning centers and these floor cushions will help with that. In addition, the use of headphones helps them to focus more without being disruptive. (It helps those auditory learners a lot!) Finally, the use of containers will help keep center materials where they need to be and make our classroom more organized. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Our children are our future! We need to push them to be successful!
