Advanced placement courses are no joke. The time commitment, the effort and the energy spent inside and outside of class are considerable. The strive for five books are a fantastic resource for students to further their investigation into Biology and increase their likelihood of being successful on the AP biology test. Each student comes with his or her own background, their own story and unfortunately many are unable to afford resources like this. It is my hope to level the playing field and prevent smart, dedicated, and hard working kids from falling through the gaps because of their socioeconomic status. By funding this project you will not only help my students to reach their full potential but also help to close the achievement gap that exists between high and low income families. No child should fall behind because of a lack of access to something as simple as a quality study resource. If we can help a few extra children earn college credit while in high school we may loosen the financial burden for these kids when the reach college and are pursuing their dreams.
