The donated product of headphones for my science students has made a major impact within the classroom, beyond what I could have anticipated. Originally head phones were needed for my students to be able to engage in interactives with their Chromebooks. Since the pandemic hit, and students have returned, we are using these headphones daily.
Many students do not have their own set of headphones that are compatible to our Chromebook in class. We are teaching online distance learners, hybrid online students and in person students at the same time. My in person students can now use these headphones to hear what the students at home are saying in their breakout rooms and help to keep our classroom community.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Price
This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 3 other donors.
Headphones will provide an opportunity for my students to utilize their Chromebooks in a variety of activities. Some of these activities include using Nearpod virtual lessons to teach students about topics such as biodiversity and human impact. Other situations that headphones would be necessary include the creating and viewing of Flipgrids that students create to record videos of themselves discussing a topic.
Headphones for each student will help my students engage in curriculum that is on a virtual platform. Often time Youtube videos are used to assist me in explaining a topic in science. Allowing students to have their own set of headphones will give them independence in exploring resources online related to topics.
