I teach mathematics in a low SES public high school in a rural town located in eastern mountains of West Virginia. The students in my Pre - Calculus and AP Calculus classes are excited about math and science and plan to attend college to pursue in careers in STEM fields. We spend time in class investigating mathematical concepts to lay the foundation necessary so they are on par with their peers when they leave our small town.
