Ka'ewai Elementary school is a Title 1 school with a student population around 300. We are situated in KAM IV and most of our students live in government housing, which is across the street from the school. My fifth grade class is an inclusion classroom where majority of students are English Language Learners. The student population ranges from Chukese, Micronesians, Filipinos and Samoans. They enjoy speaking in their language and to share their culture with their peers. They are respectful and hardworking and are always curious to learn new things. My students love legos, sports, music, art projects, and dance! They love collaborative work in which they get to talk to each other. This year they started coding using virtual Micro:bit apps. In conclusion, if I have to describe my students in one sentence, I would describe them as curious, learners, and thinkers!
