Explorations Master Booklist
Funded Jan 23, 2023"You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book."
Dr. Seuss
Thank you for your kind donation of books to our Library and our Read Aloud sessions. In our classroom, children make discoveries and connections between images, symbols, words, and spoken language. Sometimes they like to pick up a book and conduct independent explorations and at other times, they prefer guided explorations and will very often take the book to an adult for that guided explorations.
My students enjoy books and stories that match their interests, are active, engaging and include interesting illustrations. At this age, their preferences are books with simple texts and clear rhythms. Thank you for providing us with these books.
Some of the skills/standards/goals that are accomplished in these exploration texts are:
Goal P-LIT 5. Child asks and answers questions about a
book that is read aloud.
Goal P-ATL 13. Child uses imagination in play and
interactions with others.
Goal P-SCI 1. Child observes and describes observable
phenomena (objects, materials, organisms, and events).”

Mrs. Howard
Little Scientist
Funded Jun 27, 2022The staff and students thank you for your contribution of science educational manipulatives to our classroom community. Your thoughtful consideration in helping these children in this underserved district is very appreciated. Your big-heartedness plays a meaningful role in providing for these wonderful, smart, and eager young learners. I have enclosed a few pictures demonstrating how excited and happy our students were to use these donations. The sink/float activity was especially enlightening and very helpful. They also had lots of fun with the fishing rods activity.
This is a great assistance to us, especially with the ongoing challenges due to COVID's impact in 2020 and beyond. The children are thrilled to have some new manipulatives. This thoughtful donation is so well-deserving by our students. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors and 4 other donors.Yummy in My Tummy
Funded Feb 26, 2022Our 3K class is very grateful for your donation to our "Yummy in my Tummy" project. It is because of donors like you why we continue to be successful in the work we do in our school community. Our students were thrilled when they observed the boxes of goodies being brought into the classroom. The majority of our families were not able to provide their children with snacks, and so this helps to keep our students hydrated and fed everyday. Please continue to support our students, and by extension, their families! Thank you for helping to make our job as teachers even more exciting!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Howard
