My Sister's Keeper: the Key(chain) to Success!
Funded Mar 17, 2025Thank you so much for supporting our after school club! The girls have been working so hard on leadership qualities, their social emotional learning and creating a safe space together. I cannot wait to let them know that they have gotten your support acknowledging all the work they have done!”

Charged and in Charge of Our Learning!
Funded Nov 29, 2023With your help, my students are able to engage in our classwork without worrying about losing power. Using phones in class seems like the opposite of what eachers want but im happy to embrace this tech obsessed generation and work with the technology not against it. We constantly use our phones to log in and participate. Being logged into our peardeck session can be draining on cellphone batteries and often by the end of the day we have students who's phones have died. This alleviates the stress of using too much battery and students can focus on the task at hand. The students have been great about getting setup as soon as they enter the room and returning the packs and cables at the end of class. Students have encouraged their classmates to grab a pack as soon as the come in and it's great to be able to accommodate all 30 students in the room if needed! It is amazing how much more focused we have become now that we don't have to worry about not being able to participate and being excluded. Thank you again for all of your help and supporting our tech savvy classroom!”

Funded Sep 11, 2023We have had such an amazing, positive and eye-opening start to our My Sister's Keeper Club and that is all because of you and your generosity. We have begun our lanyards and have worked on positive self-image, family dynamics and connections to our community. As we dive into these topics, we have been able to provide the girls with their pins or keychains that represent the topics we have completed.
The girls are so excited to show off their lanyards and have been explaining and sharing with other students in the building to encourage more members to join. Even some of our shy members are building the confidence and are proud to show what they have done.
Four our club we have asked students to step into the circle and say one thing they have to give to our club and as they step back, they must say what they hope to take from the club. While it is a simple task it has proven to be very impactful for the girls. They always remind us to complete the activity for the new members as that is the initiation to receiving their new lanyard.
We had such a great time creating our dream catchers and talking about our dreams as it was meaningful and also the perfect team bonding experience. With your resources it has allowed for the creativity to flow but most importantly it has given our girls confidence in themselves and one another.”

Funded Nov 28, 2022We just completed our first lab/demo with your generous donations and my students were so engaged and excited! Using the solutions and lighting them on fire to demonstrate the flame test brought our electrons unit to life! They asked over and over to see the flames again and when i asked for an explanation of how it was producing the different colors it made it all worth it to hear they could explain the underlying chemistry concepts.
Moving into our atomic structure unit having the atom kits truly brought the atoms to life. Students were able to see the difference between the nucleus and the overall atom and by placing the "protons" and "neutrons" inside the egg (nucleus) made for a better understanding of the arrangement. Taking the concepts a step further, we were able to make not just atoms but also ions and isotopes. Overall students saw 15 different samples and have a strong understanding on what makes an atom ion and isotope. We were able to break down the electron configuration and explain the way electrons are either added or subtracted to gain the charge. Students were engaged and excited to work with the hands on material. Being able to have the kits has changed the way students learn and it has allowed for more independent learning.
I cant thank you enough for this! we are so incredibly grateful!”

Frogtopsy Autopsy
Funded Mar 25, 2022I cannot thank you enough for the donation of frogs for our students. Prior to actually beginning the autopsy, I had students who were not even in my class come in to ask if the rumors were true that we would be dissecting frogs. To learn that the students had already been talking about what was going to happen with their peers was a wonderful way to start this topic.
For our frogtopsy, the first day was solely making observations on the frogs (external autopsy) looking for any peculiar markings and possible bruising on the victims. Students were engaged and making note of every possible difference their frog had. Students were excited to share their findings and discuss with others at their table. They were responsible and on task for the entire period!
Day 2 students learned about the frogs eyes and mouth and began the first part of the internal autopsy. Students were beyond excited to really begin the autopsy, some were hesitant because it was something they had never seen before but seeing the confidence grow for these students was remarkable. Every student was professional and able to make connections through the period
Day 3 we started with a Y incision on our frogs and students needs to identify the various organs and try to find what the last meal of was the victim. Students not only were on task but they were excited to present their findings to the class. Tools were used appropriately and the curiosity in the room was remarkable. Students drew conclusions on the COD for the frogs and presented their findings for the manner of death as well.
While schedules are being made for next year, students have already popped in asking if we will be conducting the "frogtopsy" again next year because they requested the course. It is amazing what one donation can do for a child.
THANK YOU!”
