Throughout the school day, first graders are asked to sit in small groups at tables with hard plastic chairs. They work at centers on a carpeted, but hard floor. Students sit on hard benches at lunch and metal stools in art and music. Most of these seating options do not provide for the sensory needs of my students. Students with sensory input/output differences need softer, more flexible seating options that help them manage motor and sensory problems. Focus, attention, effort, and stamina can improve with softer seating options. Please donate to this project so I can provide seating alternative to my students so they can perform to their potential.
