We all remember a time when we were fully engrossed in a book or series, evaluating every move the characters made, feeling the tension as the mood shifts, and vocally warning the characters when we 'd feel that danger was near. I want my students to be able to feel that same connection to characters, to suspend disbelief and completely immerse themselves in worlds. If I am able to hook kids with stories, and books that genuinely interest them, I can help fill some of the gaps in their learning. After all, the best means of improving the reader is by reading.

About my class
