My students LOVE to build and do anything "hands-on." They are always asking if they can build with whatever materials we have. I would love to be able to give them a bunch of LEGO materials and see what they could come up with! The possibilities are endless! They are so creative and willing to try new things, I would love to challenge them with something new! By having these materials available, my students will have social interactions, have to problem-solve with each other, get to build fun things that they can be proud of and use STEM in the classroom! By using these LEGO bricks, my students will also be working on their fine motor skills. Young children just coming into school keep showing less and less fine motor skills because everything today is "touch." I want my students to be able to pick up and build with their own hands. I want them to try and fail and learn from their experiences. With this LEGO set, I will also be able to come up with some math lessons for my students. I would like to be able to give them a specific number of LEGO bricks they can use, what sizes they can use, or even how many of each color, and see what they can come up with them.
