Encourage Environmentalism with Time for Kids!
Funded Oct 28, 2010Thank you so much for your generous contributions. Having access to this resource has allowed my students to become engaged in the world around them. I have been able to incorporate the authentic Time for Kids issues into my literacy instruction as well as my social studies and science blocks. We have used them independently and as a whole class to practice reading skills and strategies for understanding nonfiction texts. Not only have the issues provided students with an opportunity to practice their reading, but they have allowed us to explore relevant global topics with a kid-friendly text. Without support from people like you, we would be unable to access such wonderful materials. Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Fiorillo

Funded Aug 17, 2010I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donations to my project, "Searching for the Just-Right Book." The materials arrived just in time for the start of a new school year, and my first grade students have taken full advantage of the books and classroom organizational system.
Because of your contributions, my low-income students now have access to books that are on their level and matched to their interests. My ESL students can use the low level picture books to expand their English vocabulary. My highest readers now have the chance to read chapter books such as Henry and Mudge and Junie B. Jones. The additions to our classroom collection have been welcomed with cheers of excitement. Further, the addition of the pocket chart has allowed me to communicate with my students in a more efficient and personal way. They love checking their pocket to find a just-right book recommendation or note of encouragement.
Without the support of citizens like yourselves, many students like my own would lack the essential resources needed for a meaningful and effective literacy education. Thank you, again, for all that you have done for my class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Fiorillo
