Many of our students have never seen or held a book until they came to school. Many of them have never been read to either until they entered school. With this being said a library of age appropriate books is so important. We are in need of of educational books of interest. We have many themes that we work on each week and are in need of educational books for these themes. Some of them are animals, seasons, life cycles, presidents, black history, inventors, and planets. Having a proper library is essential for teaching. Without these books our classroom is lacking many fundamentals. It has been a goal to read a book or more everyday to my class and I have nearly succeeded. With the appropriate library I will be able to continue to reach my goals of submerging my students with literacy everyday.
