At Dunbar, we struggle with school wide behavior. As a team, we decided we needed a school-wide behavior plan to provide students with a positive incentive. All students, teachers, and staff are assigned to a house color team. Red House- Physiologists, Blue house- Neurologists, Yellow house- Zoologists, Green house- Botanists. The house names were chosen to connect to our Medical & Science Magnet theme. The houses not only allow students to earn points for following character education expectations during the day, but it also allowed us to build our school culture at the same time. All students, teachers, and staff are assigned to a house color team. Red House- Physiologists, Blue house- Neurologists, Yellow house- Zoologists, Green house- Botanists. The house names were chosen to connect to our Medical & Science Magnet theme. We hold house meetings each month to allow each team to come together as a whole for expectation reviews, presentations, and celebrations. We have houses to build collaboration and positive school culture among students. We are asking for four colored rugs for students to sit on during our character education assembly. Our only meeting space is in the cafeteria and our students have to sit on the tile floor. Not only would these rugs make it more comfortable for our students, but it would also help designate where each house comes together as a team.
