I cannot express how much I appreciate your generosity to donate Magic School Bus books and DVDs to my classroom. The 4 different books allow me to introduce science topics and expand their knowledge about the Solar System, the Ocean, Earth, and Human Body. My students love the characters and the all adventures the characters go on. They get excited whenever we get a chance to watch a DVD episode. I pick the episodes based off of what science topic we have been discussing and learning about so it is more relatable to and understanding on what exactly that science topic is. The science topic has been brought to life through Ms.Frizzle and her students. With these books, I am able to teach the students how to understand important features in texts, such as captions and text bubbles. These books allow me to teach the students the importance of reading every part of the story and looking at the pictures carefully for evidence. The pictures always give us more information and build off what the text says.

My students are constantly reading in my classroom. They are all on different levels so I work with small groups in order to reach each student's reading needs. Our curriculum wants use to teach our science by intergrating it through reading, having these books helps! I can pull my small groups and read with them or have put them in the read-aloud center and have the disk read it to them. These different methods help my lower reader's fluency and expands their vocabulary. All my students were so excited when we received these and we started using them in our reading center. They are just a great resource that helps relate these topics and give them a better understanding in a kid friendly way.”
