My students aren't a fan of math, so as soon as they walk into my classroom, they don't want to do anything. I want to make my classroom more comfortable for them so hopefully they will be more willing to learn instead of just "shutting down."
I want a variety of seating options for my students to choose where they will be able to work to their full potential. Having sat in our traditional desks for staff meetings, I can attest they are not necessarily the best place to spend an extended amount of time. I have some floor cushions already, and plan on using the coffee table with those.
The clipboards will be used for the students who sit in the gamer chairs or other chairs that don't have a hard surface to write on. The exercise ball chairs can also be used at the coffee table and will be great for those students who are constantly fidgeting and moving.
The shaggy black rug will be used to make the classroom feel more comfortable and less institutional, as well as the Big Joe Roma chairs, and saucer chairs. I added the drawer organizer cart to hold supplies for my students so they can grab pencils, paper, erasers, etc. whenever they need instead of stopping class so I can get something for them.
