Our students have learned so much this year through their garden. They have started seedlings indoors, transplanted them outdoors, and cared for them meticulously until harvest time. They have successfully grown, harvested, and consumed collard greens, carrots, radishes, lettuce, peppers, Swiss chard, peas, cucumbers, and kale. With these birdhouses and bird feeders, the students will be able to attract a variety of bird wildlife to the garden. They will be able to observe the birds that visit as well as compare and contrast which bird feeders and bird feed the birds prefer. I have seen how this garden has positively affected these students and I look forward to watching them successfully move forward with phase two of their garden.
