I hope this message finds you well! On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution to our classroom through DonorsChoose. Your support has truly made an incredible difference in enhancing our learning environment and opportunities.

Thanks to your generosity, we now have access to much-needed art supplies that allow our students to explore their creativity and express themselves in ways that words sometimes cannot. The math manipulatives you provided have transformed how we approach problem-solving, making abstract concepts more tangible and engaging for our learners. Additionally, the classroom setup supplies have created a welcoming and organized space where students can thrive academically and socially.

The impact of your gift is evident every day as I watch students light up with excitement while creating art projects, collaborating on hands-on math activities, and settling into a space that feels both inspiring and supportive. These moments are a direct result of your kindness and belief in the power of education.

Thank you once again for being a part of our journey. Your generosity has planted seeds of curiosity, confidence, and creativity that will continue to grow far beyond the walls of our classroom.

    With deepest appreciation,

  • Hit the Ground Running

    Funded Jun 18, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity. It was like Christmas every day as the packages arrived one after another. We would make predictions of what was inside based on the size, shape, and weight of each package. Just the arrival of your gifts were a science experiment.

Our clipboards have been doing double duty as expo boards. The seatbacks hold our "Just for Me" books and laptop headphones. The school supplies really helped fill the gaps for our struggling families.

The flexible seating has been a Godsend as we do a TON of partner work. The vinyl and paper were used to label and organize our helper charts and various supplies and sections of the classroom. The Humble math books have exploded our multiplication mastery. We start every math lesson with a 5 minute timed test. I already have 2 students who have passed all of them and are considered fluent.

Truly, thank you so much for your generosity. You have reduced the stress of the teacher and increased the happiness and success of my students. God bless you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dykins

  • Organized Oasis

    Funded Jan 18, 2022

I teach the most amazing and creative group of fourth-graders in Florida! These kiddos range in age from 9-11 and within each and every one of them comes with unique gifts that makes us a spectacular learning family. More than half of my children are fluent in at least two languages. 11 of my 19 students are exceptional learners. We are a Title 1 school.

"The Creative Mind is Rarely Tidy" But that doesn't mean that our learning space can't be! When going "off script" regarding curriculum, this organization is CRITICAL to ensuring that my kiddos get the necessary state standards, while still taking the path of engagement, exploration, and creativity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dykins

  • Flexible in Fourth

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

If you are looking for a particularly imaginative group of kiddos in Sarasota, look no further than my classroom, here at Gocio. Thanks to your amazing generosity we are able to be as creative as we want, anywhere we want.

Having flexible seating options has helped my students develop ownership in our classroom. Being able to choose their learning environment, and move around the room as needed has helped my students develop many necessary skills. When allowing students to choose their learning space during independent and group work, has made them more engaged. They now collaborate more openly, and show greater learning outcomes.

The products that I have chosen have helped my students by giving them more freedom to make decisions about their learning environment. All of these seating options have been extremely helpful for my students with ADHD, as well as students that just need to get their wiggles out.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dykins

  • Visual Arts for Visual Kids

    Funded Dec 27, 2021

Your donation dollars have been put to wonderful use as we have studied both science and math. We used tape, canvases, and paint to draw and measure angles. We then swapped them with a buddy who used protractors to verify their friend's measurements. The students then filled in the voids created by the tape to create various polygons. These were revealed when the tape was removed. The students then quizzed one another by naming the properties of the various shapes as their partners guessed. In the end, the children had a beautiful, unique piece of artwork to bring home to their mothers.

We also used the paint to study mixtures, solutions, and states of matter when we made papier mache pumpkins. Thank you, dear donors for showing the children that math and science are natural partners in art.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dykins

The creativity of my students is boundless...unfortunately, our budget is minimal. In our quest to truly integrate the arts into all areas of the fourth grade curriculum, we are asking you to help us secure painting supplies for our classroom. In fourth grade, we explore geometry, specifically lines, angles, and polygons. We will use our protractors to measure acute, right, and obtuse angles on our canvas and block those lies off with masking tape. We will then use the paint and brushes to cover the exposed canvas. We will integrate art into our language arts curriculum by using the calligraphy markers and art paper to write poetry, similes, and idioms describing a person who has inspired us. The resulting piece of writing will be mounted on the back of the canvas and presented to the person.
