  • Bright Lights and Color

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My students really appreciate the new color copy printer. It prints so great in the classroom. Everyone enjoys doing the activities, especially now that they are in color print.

We are very fortunate that our project was funded, so we can continue improving learning. My students are English Language Learners, which is difficult for them as well as being in a new country and a new school environment. They are very eager to learn and and make new friends in school.

Once again we truly are thankful that we were able to get our "new color printer."”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Abramowitz

  • Welcome To The Big Apple

    Funded Mar 28, 2011

I greatly appreciate all the art supplies and picture dictionaries that you were able to donated to my ESL students. We were able to do our project "Welcome To The Big Apple". We discussed many different places that we can go and visit in NYC. The students enjoyed working on their project so much. They were so excited to have the supplies. One of the places we discussed was Central Park. The students now want to visit the park, so we are planning a trip. Our school has had budget cuts over the years, but with your help it has given the students the chance to have art supplies. Also for this project each child now has their own picture dictionary as well. The dictionaries, helped the students with their vocabulary.

I wanted to thank you as well for giving my students the opportunity to be able to grow academically through the use of art. It was great to see them enjoy themselves while they were learning.

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Abramowitz

My students are mainly of Hispanic and Asian decent. They are attending a New York City public school. English is not their first language. They don't have many opportunities to do things because of their family's financial situations. Also some of the students family members are working long hours and can't be there as much as they would like to be available for their children.
