If my project is funded, I will be using the materials to create engaging learning centers for math and reading. I have discovered that learning centers are an excellent approach to addressing different learning styles of students. It is also a wonderful way to differentiate instruction according to student ability and needs.
Learning centers are a hands-on way to learn and practice skills learned.
It also provides an excellent opportunity for students to problem-solve and learn together. With these materials, I will be able to create new learning centers to address student needs in math and reading. These activities will motivate my students to stay focused and on task while providing a multi-sensory experience.
I have selected quality materials which will help me design and implement learning centers for students to participate in during math and reading. Furthermore, many of the reading centers chosen have visuals that will help increase my bilingual student's vocabulary in a fun interactive way. The various center games or activities I have chosen will be used during my small group instruction during my math and reading blocks. I am so excited about this learning opportunity for my students. Students thrive when they are given the chance to learn with hands-on materials!
