My students will be participating in this year's decision day, an event which will celebrate their commitment to embark in a new journey after high school. Regardless of what they commit to do, (2 or 4 year college, vocational school, military, etc) the laptop can be of so much use both figuratively and literally. In the literal sense, it is a tool in our era of technology which can allow them to successfully complete their work. Figuratively, it plants a seed in our community which brings awareness, awareness that people are willing invest in their education. The school materials are an investment in a group of students whom have high hopes of contributing back to their community. They will use the writing utensils to lessen the financial burden higher education has on their family and thus setting them up for success.
