• Calming Ocean Seating Rug

• Fact Fluency Fun

  Thank you so much for your generous contributions. The new dividers for my students' desks are very sturdy, and they will be useful for years to come. The students enjoy having their own space to have privacy when working because I have tables in my classroom instead of desks.

  This year I had the opportunity to attend a good amount of math professional development, and I have learned the importance of fact fluency. One of the best ways to practice and maintain fact fluency is through playing games in the classroom. My students have enjoyed playing the games in this book, and I do think that it has improved their mathematical thinking.

• Classroom Environment for First Grade Learners

  Thank you so much for your generous donations to my Donors Choose project. I was able to use the bulletin board supplies to create a welcoming environment for all of my first grade students. And the teachers pay teachers gift card allowed me to purchase engaging worksheets and lessons that I used in my first grade classroom. The students especially loved the geometry math lessons that I purchased from teachers pay teachers. The lesson slides included videos, activities, games, and assessments that the students looked forward to during math each day. Your generous is greatly appreciated.”

• Teaching Materials for an Academically Diverse Classroom

  Thank you so much for your donations. The money has allowed me to be able to purchase learning materials to teach students across a wide range of learning levels.

  First of all, the magnetic letters are used in small reading groups with emerging readers to engage them while learning to spell sights words. The letters are also used to teach phonemic awareness to these emerging readers, and the materials are particularly engaging because the letters can me moved around on magnetic boards by the students.

  Finally, the gift card has allowed me to purchase materials to engage all student in the classroom. The students' favorite purchase thus far has been some "escape room" activities where the students must work together to solve problems to "escape."

  Teachers Pay Teachers is a website where I can purchase quality worksheets and lessons to be used in my online classroom. These worksheets and lessons can be used every year, and I have been able to buy some new worksheets that I have used in my remote classroom. I can easily say that the favorite of the first graders was a turkey bingo game that we played over zoom.

  The resource book that you purchased for me has been invaluable. Because I am new to the world of teaching remotely, the information that I have been able to gain from this book has helped me in the classroom.

  Because of your kindness and generosity, each of the students in my classroom has a dry erase board at home to use during zoom meetings. This makes it easy for me to ask a question and have the students write an answer. Then when the students lift the boards up, I can quickly assess if they are understanding the lesson. Even more, it makes lessons more fun for the students because first graders really love writing on dry erase boards.

  In a normal year I would include photos of children happily reading in cozy spots around my classroom. But this has certainly not been a normal school year. Instead, I have been reading these books to the children during zoom meetings or recording myself reading them so that they can listen to the books over and over.

  Watching children learn to read is one of the joys that I get to experience as a first grade teacher. Watching a child take their first steps into uncovering the adventures that can be experienced in the pages of a book is a wonder like no other.

  I cannot begin to express the importance that children be able to see themselves in the books that they read. These books give children of all colors and cultures a chance to do just that. Your donations made it possible for me to begin the process of diversifying my classroom library. I simply cannot thank you enough, and your support means so much to me.”
