  • STEM iPads For All

    Funded Jul 9, 2019

    I am very excited to finally have technology available to my groups. As a reading intervention specialist, I work with students below grade level reading to fill the gaps in comprehension, phonics, and fluency. My Students (Because of your generosity) are being exposed to many reading apps that help support our lessons.

    Students have been able to read digital text, highlight, and answer questions with immediate feedback. Videos and auditory phonics games have also been an amazing addition to our groups. This new technology is helping students make the connections they need to improve their reading.

    Every student learns through different modalities and now my groups have a chance to utilize all the wonderful reading apps, videos and programs that will help us close the achievement gap. The audio and visual component added to our daily lesson through the use of the new IPads has made our learning fun.

    Thanks to all of you and the introduction of the IPad tablets in my class, my students, that come from low income homes, now have the opportunity to utilize the many reading programs and apps. We can achieve greatness, reach goals, and soar to the stars with our exciting new technology.”

  • Outdated Classroom Needs a Makeover

    Funded Oct 23, 2018

    This was my first fully funded project!

    It is hard for me to put into words how this project has pushed my classroom from a tired old space to an amazing and effective learning environment. Each group of students that entered the room was WOWED by the new materials and the bright white dry erase board. They were thrilled to see the sad old green chalk board revived and usable. Each day they look forward to working through math problems or coding words on the brand new white board.

    They were also excited about the new colorful bins that have organized the library and grouped materials in a user friendly way. The laminator has to be their favorite addition. Now all of their important work can be utilized over and over.
