The students have been learning about plants and gardens. As they visited the school grounds and garden they noticed that trash was everywhere and that the school grounds can use a spruce up. Our students have created signs that tell the community to use trash cans and not to litter.
The donated trash cans will be added to the front yard and school playground. Both of these spaces are used by our student population (Pre-K to 2nd), a middle school (6th to 8), a District 75 school, and our neighbors in the community. With trash cans and the signs created they will now have a place to throw away their trash!
They will then go on to plant bulbs and seeds in the school's garden. Community pride will soar as both the community and school's population will have a beautiful space to call their own!
