  • Young Learners Exploring Trees

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

First of all, thank you so very much for helping to fund our project, "Young Learners Exploring Trees." Thanks to your kindness and generosity our young learners have the materials they need to explore and learn all about trees.

The students loved the book "The Leaf Man," and had so much fun designing their own leaf man in the art center with our new leaf cutouts. Our library center was a big hit with all the new tree related books that were added. The students visited the library to "read" their new books. Our young learners created different leaf designs with the new leaf rubbings in the art center.

Thank you so much for making learning fun, exciting, and hands on thanks to all the new materials you helped to fund for our Tree Study. We truly appreciate your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fernandez

  • Magnetic Exploration Learning Center!

    Funded Nov 4, 2023

First of all, thank you so very much for making our project "Magnetic Exploration Learning Center a reality." The students were so excited to see this new exploration and learning center. They were so curious and wanted to visit the magnet learning center right away.

Our young learners love exploring with the gear builder set. The students try out different patterns to make the gears turn. They get so happy when they figure out a new pattern to make the gears turn. They really love using the solar system and planet magnet set. They have so many questions about the different planets as they move them around and change their positions on the magnetic board. Our young learners really enjoy using the Engineer-A-Coaster Activity kit. They love taking turns figuring out how to set the tracks in different positions to find out what will happen.

Thank you so much for making learning fun for our young learners. We really appreciate your generosity and kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fernandez

  • Calm Down and Self Regulation Support for Our Young Learners!

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

First of all, thank you so much for helping to make our project, "Calm Down and Self Regulation Support for Our Young Learners?," a reality. Now our young learners have a proper calm down toolkit to help support their social emotional learning. They are loving their new board books about important social skills needed in the classroom, like listening, cleaning up, and sharing.

When the students first saw their new calm down toolkit items they were so curious and wanted to use it right away. The sand timer helps them keep track of the time they spend in their calm corner space as they try to practice regulating their emotions. They enjoy using the play dough feelings rollers to show the different ways they feel in school.

    Thank you Donors Choose!”

  • Gross Motor Active Play for Our Youngest Learners!

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

First of all, thank you so much for helping to make our project, "Gross Motor Active Play for Our Youngest Learners!," a reality. Now the students have many play items they can use when they go out to the playground. Our young learners have outdoor gross motor time daily to help them develop their muscles and physical strength. Now they can engage in many physical activities and practice skills like kicking and catching a ball.

When our young learners first saw all the items for outdoor play they were so happy. They were asking how did we get it all. I explained how some kind people helped us to get their play items through donations. They couldn't wait to go outside to the playground to try out their new things.

Our students are learning good sportsmanship by sharing and taking turns. As they play together they are also learning important social skills like cooperation and teamwork. They love their new soccer net and ball. The students are enjoying their seal ring toss game too.

    Thank you Donors Choose!”

  • Outdoor Play Storage for Our Young Learners!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

First of all, thank you so much for helping to make our project, "Outdoor Play Storage for Our Young Learners," a reality. Thanks to your generous donations our young students have the proper storage needed to hold all their outdoor play items.

When our young learners first saw the outdoor storage cart, they were very curious. They asked what it would used for. We had a conversation about the storage cart and how it would be a home for all their outdoor play items. Our young learners were so excited to have the new storage cart. One of them said, "It is my favorite color, blue!"

Now when we go outside for gross motor play time our students have a designated storage cart where they can use their outdoor play items. When it is time for clean up they know where everything gets stored. Thank you so much to all of you that donated to help our students have a successful and organized school year.

    Thank you Donors Choose!”

  • Young Artists in the Making!

    Funded Jan 25, 2023

First of all, thank you so much for all of your kind and generous donations. Our Pre-K students love their new art easel. They are painting almost everyday in the art center. The art easel has become one of the most popular centers in our classroom. They love to paint about what we are learning. Currently we are learning all about water and the kids are painting all about the water. They love to take their paintings home to show off.

Our young learners were so curious to see what I was assembling when I was putting together our new easel. They were so excited when I finally finished putting they easel together. They couldn't wait to start painting.

Thanks to awesome and generous people like you our class now has an area where they can paint and let their creativity shine.”

I can't wait to update our math center with all the new counting materials that you helped to fund. The shape sorting set will be a fun hands on way for the students to explore shapes. The giant beads pattern will be a great new learning tool when we start our pattern unit.

My young students were so very excited when they saw the big box from donors choose. They had such big smiles when I told them everything in the box was for them to learn and play with during center time.

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

First of all a great big thank you to all the donors that helped to fund our project, "Young Learners Exploring Their Senses Through Sensory Play." Thanks to you our youngest learners will have many options when it comes to sensory play and learning.

The sensory or sand table center in the classroom is very popular with our students. They love to explore and play with the sensory items. Now I will be able to add the new colored sensory sand in this center. Also the students will love exploring with the sift and find alphabet shells set. This sift and find alphabet set will be a great letter recognition learning tool for our young learners to explore in the sensory sand center.

  • Fun Visual Learning and Science Exploration!

    Funded Jun 17, 2022

First of all thank you so much for all of your generous donations. All of the items in our project arrived on the last week of school.

When my young learners saw the boxes in the room they were super curious. I explained we just received some new items for our classroom to help us learn. I opened the first box in our shipment with the class and they were so excited. The students loved the real bugs discovery kit. I let them explore with this kit on the last week of school. The human x-ray sets will really be fun when I add it too our science center when we start our light unit.

Our learn and store chart stand will be a new addition to our meeting area where we have our learning circle time. Since it is a child friendly size the students will have a more hands on learning experience when we are doing whole group circle time. Finally the magnetic shelves will help me display the current books we will be exploring each week.

  • Social Emotional Awareness for Our Youngest Learners!

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

First of all, thank you so much to all the kind and generous donors that helped to make our project "Social Emotional Awareness for Our Youngest Learners!, a reality.

Our young students were so excited when they saw all the cool new items.

As soon as we got the materials for our project we unpacked everything. I created a calm corner for our young learners. The calm corner is a place where the students can take a break from the normal classroom activities and have some time to think about their feelings and calm down if needed.

Social Emotional awareness is a very important part of our curriculum. We discuss feeling and emotions on a daily basis with our young friends.

Once again thank you so very much for your generosity.”

My students come from a very diverse community with many different cultural backgrounds and languages. Most of the students in my school speak two languages and English is usually their second. Many of the third graders in my school struggle with basic skills. My students are very hard working and dedicated students. They are all wonderful and unique students. I know they can achieve great things.
