This Donor's Choose project will enable my English Language Learners to learn the English language while also learning about culture in the USA by reading books that are leveled for them. With the books, my students will build confidence as their reading levels increase, they will become better writers from having the books as models, they will better understand American culture, humor, and history so they can fit into our society and become successful in high school. I will use the books for students to learn the English language and also to understand American humor and culture, to develop empathy. I will use the books for independent and guided reading in class so they students can increase their reading levels, fluency, and understanding. I will use the books for students to read independently and increase their vocabulary, comprehension, and use the books for models of good writing. I will use the books for students to learn facts and gain knowledge in science, history, and life lessons.
