Just like we all respond to the environment in which we found ourselves in a variety of ways that affect our learning and productivity, young children are greatly affected by their classroom environment. The way they can make use of space and materials influences their learning process. All students, especially the littlest ones, cannot just sit down and stay still. They need to move. They need to feel free and comfortable in a cozy environment that allows increasing children's engagement in learning tasks and activities. These wobble chairs are an alternative to traditional seating—giving my Pre-K students the range of movement and the stability they need to wobble without tipping over! They will provide a physical challenge and opportunity to release energy while simultaneously working. Flexible seating empowers students. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive. Unlike traditional chairs in rows, Comfy Floor and Soft Seats will allow my students to easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class. These flexible seating options will stimulate my students' sense of touch. This type of stimulation will enable them to focus and process information. Flexible seating promotes collaboration and builds a sense of community in the classroom. This will give my students ownership over their space. It will turn it from Ms. Gonzalez's classroom to Ms. Gonzalez Class's Classroom.
