I am working toward implementing flexible seating in my kindergarten classroom. The way each of us learns is not uniform. Traditional tables and chairs are not the best options for all students. I want to be able to offer my students a wide range of seating options to meet the needs of all learners. For example, students who benefit from movement might choose to sit on a ball chair, which helps them work productively. This helps students build core muscles, which helps them focus throughout the day. I want to be able to offer my energetic students a variety of flexible seating options to make sure that each kindergartener is getting what they need to succeed.
