Make Learning Accessible
Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you so much for donating to this project. These resources have helped us stay organized as learners. We currently use the folders to organize our math, writing, and morning work. Students use the pencil cases to hold the dry erase markers for math, and their pencils. We use the larger bags to hold choice time games and activities. We use the ipads to help the ENL students learn English.
The students enjoy using these materials every day. The ENL students love using the ipads for reading programs such as imagine learning. This has been helping our migrant students adjust. So having the covers for our ipads allow them to use it with ease. We love using the scoop rocker seats for reader's workshop. Students love not having to sit on the floor!”

Funded May 5, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. Over the last two years my school has taken on making sure we are highlighting the amazing diversity in our school and communicating with our students about the issues in our world. One way we wanted to do this was by creating classroom libraries that are filled with diverse characters. We want our students to see themselves in the characters they read about. We want them to see characters that look like them.
I have never seen my students so excited to find all these books in the classroom. I have noticed students choosing the books from this donation to read more than the other books. All the read alouds have sparked amazing conversations about the incredible differences and cultures in our classroom.
I look forward to continue finding new ways to use these books to build our community.”

Funded Aug 24, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. This year was a milestone for many of my first grade students. Many of them have never stepped foot in a classroom due to covid. I was so excited to be able to create a welcoming and warm space for these students.
Everyday they come in feels like we are home. They have places for all their stuff and colors and decorations everywhere. They love being able to have everything they need!
Thank you so much for the incredible donation. Many people do not know that teachers are given bare classrooms with tables, chairs, and a few supplies. Everything else we have to hope parents donate or we buy ourselves. It felt so amazing to be able to make my classroom feel exciting and engaging without having to worry about how I was going to get these materials.”

Funded Mar 16, 2021Thank you so much for this wonderful donation. This year is the first time many of my students have been in school first time due to the pandemic. The new classroom library has created a joy and excitement for reading.
We use these books for both independent reading and shared class readings. My students get so excited when I pull out new book series for them to explore. Reading has become one of our favorite times in the classroom each day.
My students who read at lower levels are especially excited. Every year, they usually get the same nonfiction books to read. Now, they have new and exciting characters and stories, and books that are new and fresh!”

Funded Aug 1, 2018Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. The ability to utilize a few laptops and sound proof headphones has truly changed the way my students learn. In my classroom, many students have different learning needs. You can see in the pictures I posted that some students are now able to type their daily writing work. For students who struggle with writing organization this has changed the way they write and their ability to feel confident in their task. Students who struggle to focus put on the headphones and use the computers to listen to calming music as they work. It has made an incredible difference in the way the students work.
The most exciting aspect it has added to our classroom is that it has also allowed the class to complete more online work, and research projects. We often pull out the laptops for research projects so students can work in groups to find more information. For example, we did research projects on different native groups. We are currently using them to research information for argumentative debates and essays. The class loves the opportunity to go on the computer and research, as well as use it to make interactive presentations.
Overall, the use of the computers and the headphones in the classroom has made a difference in the way my various learners have approached work and hows they have been learning. The small change created a significant difference and we cannot thank you enough.”
